About MSNMMI
The Malaysian Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (MSNMMI), established in 2014, is a multidisciplinary professional society comprising clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, physicists, technologists, radiographers, and researchers.
Dedicated to advancing the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, MSNMMI promotes excellence in imaging and therapy through education, research, and academic initiatives. The Society actively organizes conferences, workshops, and continuous medical education (CME) programs to enhance professional knowledge and clinical practice.
MSNMMI also fosters collaboration and networking among healthcare professionals, researchers and industry partners, creating opportunities for joint research, knowledge exchange, and innovation in nuclear medicine.
MSNMMI is a proud member of the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB) and the Asia Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOFNMB), aligning its efforts with global standards and initiatives in the field.
Mission & Vision

To establish and maintain an organization of medical practitioners, scientists and technologists of high standing with a common interest in the scientific and clinical disciplines concerned with the diagnostic, therapeutic and investigational use of radionuclides.

To foster meetings of the organization for the purpose of communicating and discussing knowledge of Nuclear Medicine and the application of the same in better understanding and control of disease.

To disseminate information concerning Nuclear Medicine by sponsoring scientific and professional publications.

To strive to better the welfare of mankind by maintaining and advancing the highest possible standards of education, research, and practice of Nuclear Medicine.

To address in a timely manner socio-economic issues and government relations that may significantly effect (sic) the quality of education, research, and clinical practice in Nuclear Medicine.
History
“The Malaysian Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (MSNMMI) was established in 2014, with its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) convened in 2015. The Society’s Council consists of 11 members—8 of whom are elected by the general membership, while the remaining 3 are appointed by the Council. The positions of President and President-Elect are reserved for qualified Nuclear Medicine Physicians.
MSNMMI’s membership is multidisciplinary, comprising clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, physicists, biochemist, technologists, radiographers, and researchers. The Society’s mission is to advance the field of nuclear medicine imaging and therapy, and to enhance the knowledge and competencies of its members through conferences, academic programs, and other professional development activities.
MSNMMI is a recognized member of both the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB) and the Asia Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOFNMB). Over the past decade, MSNMMI has consistently provided up-to-date training and facilitated the dissemination of the latest research findings to its members and the broader nuclear medicine community. The Malaysia Nuclear Medicine Annual Conference (MyNm)—held nearly every year since 2018 —serves as a key platform for sharing cutting-edge knowledge, fostering professional connections, and promoting collaboration at both the national and international levels.”
